My grandfather was the school caretaker in the early 70 and lived on site He was a retired army RSM. if anyone has photoes of him I would be grateful if you could let me have a copy please, or if anyone knew him.  He had a rose garden on site and also a little Yorkshire Terrier. His wife was German and called Elizabeth. If anyone can help please contact the webmaster who will forward any information to Lee Johnson.
More from Lee,

I stated that my grandfather was the caretaker  in the 70’s. I have now been informed he was also the caretaker in the 60’s and he helped run the Combined Cadet Force. He also ran the club to design a mosaic near the boiler room. If anyone remembers please get in touch via the webmaster.

Does anyone have any news of JOHN WONNACOTT who was at Queen's (the Lower School) when I was (1961-1964) ?
I had some contact with him for a few years after Queen's, but am unable to find out where he is, now ...
He got a B.Ed at London and went to teach in South America.
He had a younger sister TINA and an older brother TERENCE and we all lived at RHEYDT for a few years (until my family moved to MÖNCHENGLADBACH) ...
I have tried all the other sites and there has been no sign of him there, or here ...
Is there any 'official body' I could contact in the UK ?
Thank you for any information : do I need to offer a 'reward' :-) ? If so, I will !
Barbara née Simpson (still alive and well in the South of France ! )

Hello Lee
On your request....I don't have a photo of your Grandfather but I remember him well,
and particularly for an `incident` that I am about to confess ! - and with a little irony too.
I was with a few pals outside the school gate waiting for the bus and I unfortunately blew
a crater in Mr Johnson Seniors beautiful rose garden with a `Farmers Banger` firework, used
to scare crows.
I received quite a shouting from various teachers with detention - and rightly so.
My Dad was a bomb disposal officer and this was certainly a `yikes` situation, but your
Grandfather did not take it further.
After the detention I went to see Mr Johnson to give him a truly heartfelt apology and he
in turn gave me a truly stern but fair rebuke - and I had learned a valuable lesson in life.

I went and saw Father Bill Boyd last year, 91, still as sharp as ever. He is in a home for retired priests. If anyone would like to contact him, would you ask them to contact me and I will ask him if he wants them to know where he is.....
